RTLS Studio 3.5
Welcome to RTLS Studio 3.5 Product Tour.
This page contains information about new features of the RTLS Studio and detailed guides on how to use them properly.
NEW Trackables App now part of the Studio
As the demand for trackables feature continues to grow, we’re evolving RTLS Studio to meet that need as well. Based on feedback from our customers and partners, it's clear that end users want to be able to create and manage pairings quickly and seamlessly. Inspired by success stories from our partners—who leveraged our open API to build simple, customized apps for industrial barcode scanners—we’ve now integrated a similar solution directly into RTLS Studio. This new built-in feature represents a major step forward for anyone looking to create and manage trackables more efficiently. Be sure to install the latest release of RTLS Studio, and don’t hesitate to contact the Sewio Service Desk to learn more.

NEW Sensmap Ease-of-use improvements
RTLS Studio version 3.5 introduces several quality-of-life enhancements designed to simplify system deployment in Sensmap.
Since Sensmap is arguably the most widely used tool in our toolkit during deployments, we focused on making it more responsive, transparent, and user-friendly — especially when managing larger numbers of tags on-site. Key contributors to these improvements include:
Improved Sensmap Tag Labels
RTLS Studio 3.5 tag labels now only display the associated trackables name after the association on the map instead of both the MAC address and the new associated data. While the MAC address of an associated tag is potentially useful, we’ve received feedback from users that both labels can lead to a cluttered screen, especially when many tags with associations are deployed within close proximity.
Visualization of sleeping tags
In a further effort to reduce clutter and maintain focus on the most relevant data, sleeping tags will reduce in size when zooming out in Sensmap while active tags will remain unscaled. This improvement will help users to more easily track active, moving tags when viewing layouts in Sensmap from a building-wide scale.
Optimized displaying of large quantity of tags
Navigating the map is now smoother than ever — even when working with large numbers of tags. You’ll notice seamless movement without lag, making it simpler to manage complex deployments. While Sensmap wasn’t originally designed as a visualization tool, many of our customers are discovering its value for monitoring the real-time status of their facilities.
NEW Configurable capture length
RTLS Studio 3.5 introduces greater system monitoring and troubleshooting flexibility with the addition of capture duration control. Capturing a snapshot of the system during specific events is an invaluable tool - especially for remote support and debugging. By default, RTLS Capture records a 15-minute window, but in scenarios where events occur infrequently or tracked objects move slowly, or not at all, that 15-minute window may be insufficient. To address this concern, RTLS Studio 3.5 now allows users to adjust the capture duration directly within the GUI, extending it from the default 15 minutes up to 480 minutes - enough to cover an entire 8-hour shift.

NEW Data retention policy in RTLS Database
Managing large volumes of RTLS data effectively is crucial for system performance and storage optimization. RTLS inherently generates significant amounts of data, but in some circumstances may produce more than needed or anticipated. When data storage capacity becomes an issue, RTLS Studio 3.5 offers a built-in solution. Users can now configure automated data audits to retain data for 1, 2, or 3 months—or keep all data—ensuring efficient storage management without the need for ad hoc intervention.
